Welcome to Flagship Farms, developed by McDonald’s in conjunction with the Food Animal Initiative to encourage sharing of sustainable agricultural practices.
Farms showcased here demonstrate excellent practice in at least one area of sustainability, while also operating to generally high standards in all other areas. Click on the countries marked in green in the map below to call up brief overviews of our Flagship Farms. For a more in-depth overview of each farms good practice areas click on the 'Read More' link below each farm.
The primary aim of this site is to encourage dialogue between farmers, demonstrate the benefits of sustainable practices and promote their broader adoption across the farming community. The progressive farmers featured on this site are keen to share the benefits of the good practices they have adopted and continuously strive to improve and innovate.
The Flagship Farm project builds on the McDonald’s Agricultural Assurance Programme (MAAP), the tool that we use to assess the agricultural production standards employed in growing the farm products used in our menus.
