Employers in all sectors in Europe are obliged to ensure worker health and safety in the workplace, including working hours and fair remuneration. In each local European country there are varying levels of pay and standard working practices; what demonstrates good practices is the voluntary adoption of good recognised employment practices, with additional benefits that are relevant on a local level.

Farm Frites Potato Farm, Poland

This potato farm employs 62 full-time staff with up to a further 150 casual staff employed during the peak harvest period. Currently Poland has a minimum wage set for full-time staff but nothing for part-time casual staff. To this end the management team has calculated what a full-time worker in Poland receives (calculated on an hourly basis) and pays the same hourly rate to all casual staff.
